This briefing has been prepared for Members of the London Assembly to provide an up-to-date overview of apprenticeship participation and trends in London, with particular emphasis on how the Capital compares with the rest of England in the delivery of higher-level apprenticeships. It draws on the latest national and regional data, public attitudes research, and CIMA’s own evidence to highlight key challenges and opportunities for strengthening London’s skills pipeline.
The briefing also sets out CIMA’s position on proposed changes to Level 7 apprenticeships and outlines our policy recommendations to ensure the apprenticeship system continues to support economic growth, employer needs, and social mobility across the capital.
