Speakers
Laura Wardwell
Laura holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Loyola University of New Orleans, and a Master of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma City University. She has held a CPA license in the state of Oklahoma for 12 years, and after starting her career as an auditor for BKD, LLP, she became the Controller for Valliance Bank in Oklahoma City. Laura joined the PhD program at the John T. Steed School of Accounting at the University of Oklahoma in 2024. Laura has previously served as an adjunct faculty member for Oklahoma City University and the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as the OU. In addition to teaching, she enjoys utilizing the strengths of both her degrees in her service as a volunteer for Painted Sky Opera in Oklahoma City. Her research interests include managerial behavior, audit, and accounting in the banking industry. In her free time, Laura enjoys being with her husband and two beautiful children, pursuing creative projects with friends, and critically engaging with science fiction media.
Lindsey Yopp
Lindsey Yopp is Lead Manager – CPA Pipeline at the AICPA, where she focuses on management of AICPA’s Pipeline Acceleration Plan initiatives, which includes the ELE program. Prior to working on CPA pipeline growth, Lindsey managed a number of international initiatives, including working alongside NASBA on Mutual Recognition Agreements with international accounting bodies. Lindsey also has a background in international education and learning and development.
